Namibia Trophies July 2010

Here is an older, mature male Warthog, I took him at 90 yards, after evaluating his tusks to ensure he was an old male, and neither a young animal with breeding potential, or a female.

I am using a CZ550FS in 9,3x62 with 250 grain Nosler Accubonds at 2500fps.

I took this mountain zebra at 280 yards across a valley. He is another mature stallion, and will be a great carpet for my living room.

This shot, and the baboon I took at similar range, should dispel the idea that a 9,3x62 is a short range cartridge.

Dale's Red Hartebeest. A grand example, with symmetric horns that are just starting to turn outward, a sign of advanced age.

Jackals are vermin and are eliminated when found. This one was part of a group feasting on a Hartebeest that had become trapped in a fence.

A grand old Hartebeest. This was an excellent stalk that took several hours to get within 90 yards of him under the watchful eye of several females. Our patience led to this gold-medal animal.

A really nice, old, superior Black Wildebeest (Gnu). We stalked him and then had to wait for several hours for him to move. I took him at 165 yards

I got steadily better at hunting the elusive Sand Grouse. Here you can see Sand Grouse, a couple Namaqua Sand Grouse and some gray doves.
